They are young, smart and ambitious. Because of them, Croatian future looks bright. They are a small group of geniuses with gold and silver medals in their hands from the prominent world’s robotic junior competitions.
They are Sven (13), Noa (13), Janko (15), Matej (15), Roko (15), Matko (17) and Ivan (19). They are Croatian Robotic team and they make us proud.
Because of their results at World Robocup Junior in China they have been invited by Chairman of RoboCup Junior Australia to compete in Adelaide at International Open Competition. After participating at the RoboCup Junior Australian Competition from 25 – 27 September, they will visit Melbourne and Geelong.
We are looking for accommodation for them within Croatian Australian families in Melbourne.
If you have a kid who is into robotics or just want to expose your children to Croatian language and if you have a possibility to accommodate one or more kids, please contact us at enquiries@vccc.asn.au.
They will come to Melbourne on morning 28. September and will leave for Geelong on the afternoon of 30 September.
During their stay, they will visit Melbourne University (Department of Physics and Engineering, and Department of Robotics) and off course your kid is welcomed to join them. There is also a possibility that they will run a one-day workshop and share their knowledge and experience to give back to the kids who accommodate them.
These kids don’t have fancy sponsors or government scholarships supporting their amazing achievements. They don’t have sponsors at all.
In Canberra, they will stay at the residence of Croatian Ambassador, His Excellency Damir Kušen. In Sydney, Geelong and Melbourne they depend on welcome of Croatian community.
Let’s show Australia and Croatia how big is the heart of Melbourne Croatian community.
